Pre-Made Builds
Just wanted to share some of 'my' thoughts about the new pre-made builds with other players.
Firstly, noticably all of the new builds are GvG/Arena builds, where's the enthusiasm to encourage people to play Heroes' Ascent?
Secondly, all the builds are ''apparently'' designed by Esoteric Warriors, this is wrong, most of them builds weren't designed by them, but designed by other guilds/players. This in a way implies that Esoteric Warriors designed all of the metagame builds in the game to date. Credit where it isn't deserved on their part..
And where are the Heroes' Ascent builds? Where's the Word Of Healer monk, Migraine mesmer, Iway warrior, Choking Gas ranger and so on?
Basically Arenanet wants everyone to play the same linear metagame builds, not a scent of variety to be seen. This is all wrong..

Yeah, I've been using some of these builds in RA since like forever, so they've hardly "designed" them. While creating my incredibly original E-denial mesmer I've also noticed that they have added Elonian looks for the character, featuring a whooping number of 3 faces and 3 or 4 hairstyles. YAY !

Yeah, seriously. If you're going to add some of the basic PvP builds to the premades list (a good idea) at least don't attribute them to any one specific team, which I think we all know is a load of crap.
Actually, I couldn't help but notice that some of the new builds were very close to some of the old standards, except with a minor (and, more often than not, disadvantageous) change made to make it seem a little more "unique".
Everyone likes the idea of useful premades, but this is seriously just getting into politics more than anything. Add the basics, recognize that no one team or person came up with them and GG. Don't put guilds in stupid positions by assigning credit where it's not due.

C'mon even if new templates lack some common build (which I agree with but on the other hand if every current metagame character was there it would be also bad) they are far better than last ones.
Now u can hop into pvp with stable, solid and tested build not some paladin or illusion slasher. This will make things easier for beginners and will result in higher level of play in RA for example.
Its true that this build was rather common and not invited by EW - but i guess they won some contest or sth. I also regret that there are no HA builds there, but maybe they will add them later.
Still i don't want to complain cause overall its very good update which is more significant than u think in the first place.

It should just be worded differently, saying these are just the builds they picked and not the ones they "created". As far as the other updates go, they are ok. but back to the main one I dont think these pre-made builds should be in there, though a decent idea, this will just cause even more people to not explore the other skills and try things new. Its bad enough as it is, and this wont help, thats why this part of the update kinda sucks,

naw, each of those builds has certain weaknesses that make them work best in a team environment, but at the same time, they are WAY less sucky than what used to be there

Ya, giving EW credit for each and everyone of those builds is a bit naive and ignorant. And, if EW really did create all of those in ANet's minds, then why did they only use EW's? Becausse they won the championship once? This is actually making me very ticked off right now.

All these builds are overused in GvGs...I don't get why they are up if practically everyone has those skills unlocked. I would've liked to see some more original ones or something.

Well your supposed to make original builds or their not original anymore. And though i dont like anet crediting to that one guild, It is seemingly easy to obtain these builds and Anet adding them to the premade is even better. DOWN WITH THE PALADIN!

At a choice between good builds, or "original" builds, I will take the good ones every time. Thanks.

I really fail to see why people are complaining. Would you rather them put back the old ones? Templates are only meant to 1.) Give someone without any experience in playing pvp a solid base to start with, to learn a profession, their limits, and their intrests. Once they have a stronger backing in PvP, they'll branch of into other things, learn what they like, tweak/invent/inspire. They are hardly meant to limit imagination, more to spark intrest and give people a chance to be competitive in a brutal field. 2.) Give experienced players the chance to jump right into PvP without having to play through the tedious unlock process of PvE (for those that don't LIKE the tedious unlock process).
I hardly see why it is bad to have basic solid character builds. Its infuriating to hear people complain about it.

Ahem
http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/guild...ade-build.html
EW asked the community to submit their builds (theres 2 threads here on guru about these when they were being voted on). The best builds were voted on. The only build that was not chosen by EW was the ritual lord build, although everyone knows that build already. EW gave those builds to Anet. Anet implemented it in the game.
This Anet is listening to its players and making changes in game.
I cant understand how you can fault EW for servicing the community like this.
They could have decided to put their own personal ideas in, but instead they went to the forums and posted it up and asked us to submit and vote on our builds.
The only blame here is to you for being so ignorant of those facts.

Where are the HA builds? I dont know. Guess people didnt vote for them.
Arenanet didnt make the builds. The community submitted and voted.
